Southeast Construction Announces Best of 2006 Winners

Orlando, Fla. (October 6, 2006) - Southeast Construction magazine is pleased to announce the winners of its Best of 2006 awards program. The annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence from the Southeast region of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

An independent jury of industry experts in design and construction judged 138 nominated projects in a variety of categories in late September. Eligible projects had to be located within the four-state territory and completed between Sept. 1, 2005 and Sept. 1, 2006.

The 78 winners will be featured in the December 2006 issue of Southeast Construction and will be honored at an awards luncheon at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate on Tuesday, November 28.

The jury recognized projects based on entry criteria including project management, construction and design challenges, client service and safety. Design entries were judged on unity with nearby societal and environmental elements, among other criteria.

Eligible projects were sorted into categories. Each category has one "Best Of" award winner and in some cases one or more awards of "Excellence" and "Merit." On the following pages, please find the 78 winners listed by award category.
